We rely on our funding partners to help us deliver special projects into our local community as well as helping us get and keep as many women and girls involved in sport as possible.
NPBA is a Community Interest Company (C.I.C.) and is registered with Companies House (company number 11260145). It is a not for profit organisation with the structure and governance of a Limited Company. It is governed by an all woman board of 5 - consisting of founding Club coaches (as Directors) and Independent Directors who meet once a month.
Northern Powerhouse is the first women-led boxing club in the UK and our priority is to provide women and girls with opportunities to become involved in boxing either as an amateur sport and/or to improve their physical and mental wellbeing by being able to train in a safe and supportive environment free from gender stereotyping and expectations. We are located in an area with limited access in organised indoor sports and we provide a community base for women, men, boys and girls. Our members are aged between 7 and 77, coming from all social backgrounds, ethnicities and genders.
